Description:
Due to their excellent performances of low thermal expansion, high creep resistance, hot-gas corrosion resistance and superior fatigue properties, refractory metals include tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, niobium and their composite materials are widely used for critical industry applications in fields of aerospace, defense, chemical processing, electronics, energy, medical imaging and many others.

Wide Applications:
1. Aerospace Industry: In the rapidly growing aviation market, the fabricated products made from tungsten, molybdenum and their alloys are critical to the industry due to their outstanding characteristics. Tungsten counterweights are found widely used in airplane and missile guidance system; molybdenum alloy in the propulsion components; molybdenum copper in heat sinks, etc;
2. Glass and Ceramics: Their high thermal and electrical conductivity, low coefficient of thermal expansion and high corrosion resistance make tungsten, molybdenum parts the best choice for electric heating in the glass melting process. Besides electrodes, stirrers, orifice plates, and mandrels are normally produced from molybdenum;
3. Automotive Industry: In the production of cars, components made of tungsten heavy alloy are well-suited for highly effective crankshaft and flywheel balance weights;
4. Chemical Industry: The corrosion resistance, durability, workability and heat transfer properties of the refractory metals, such as molybdenum, tantalum and niobium, make them ideal for the challenging applications in the chemical industries;
5. Furnace Construction and Heat Treating: Tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and TZM, Mo-La alloys are used in the demanding applications in heat treating, sintering, brazing, annealing and other thermal processing applications. The output products include heating elements, shields, sintering trays, boats and other furnace parts used in hot-zones;
6. TIG Welding & Resistance Welding: With superb properties of high hardness, high temperature resistance, both tungsten and molybdenum are rare metallic elements used as TIG electrodes or resistance electrodes for carrying out good welding performance;
7. Electric Light Source & Electro vacuum: With excellent properties of high melting point, high temperature strength, excellent thermal conductivity, low vapor pressure as well as adjusted coefficient of thermal expansion, the superior quality tungsten and molybdenum components provided by LTWM are ideal materials for electric light source & Electro vacuum;
8. Medical Technology: Tungsten, molybdenum heavy alloy are ideal for shielding against x-rays and gamma rays in the nuclear medicine and other industries involved radiation protections;
9. Power Industry: Tungsten copper is used in the breaking chamber for arcing contact and vacuum contacts of the high voltage applications;
10. Electronics & Semiconductor Industry: Tungsten and molybdenum products can be used in ion implantation, MOCVD system in the LED industry ,Sapphire growing as well as Heat sinks and Electronic packaging materials;
11. International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER):ITER is an international research and engineering project which is currently building the world's largest and most advanced experimental tokamak nuclear fusion reactor. The ITER tokamak aims to make the long awaited transition from today's studies of plasma physics to full scale electricity-producing fusion power plants.
